Vx Capture GC/MS Data Conversion
Vx Capture™ is a data file translation utility for converting between various GC/MS file formats. Vx Capture allows:
- Batch conversion of existing data files.
- Automated translation of GC/MS data files as acquired.
Vx Capture is typically used for data interchange between Varian WorkStation (SMS, XMS), Agilent ChemStation (.D\Data.MS) and AIA (CDF) GC/MS file forms. Adron Systems works closely with Varian to support the SMS and XMS data forms in Vx Capture.

Adron Systems takes pride in the accuracy and completeness of our GC/MS file conversions! Before purchasing a competing product, compare the results of our GC/MS file conversions. Compare not only the mass spectra, but important information such as injection date & time, operator name, and sample information. Are the timestamps for each scan accurate? Also note, Vx Capture does not integerize mass values unless required by the target file format. Our goal is data preservation and data integrity.

NetCDF and AIA ANDI Addendum
NetCDF (Network Common Data Form) is a set of software libraries and machine-independent data formats that support the creation, access, and sharing of array-oriented scientific data. NetCDF is maintained by Unidata. For further information, go to the NetCDF home page.
NetCDF was chosen by the Analytical Instrument Association (AIA) to implement the Analytical Data Interchange protocols (ANDI) for mass spectrometry in 1993. The AIA ANDI files are available at SourceForge. David Stranz at Fison Instruments lead the effort to create the ANDI protocols for mass spectrometry.
Vx Capture utilizes the NetCDF library, version 3.6 and the AIA MS10 distribution.

- All the GC/MS data forms listed above are supported by the evaluation version of Vx Capture.
- The evaluation version of Vx Capture converts up to five–eighths of data file spectra to a maximum scan time of 10 minutes.
- The Thermo-Fisher Excalibur GC/MS and LC/MS data system can generate Adron System ASC files. These ASC files can be converted to Agilent ChemStation or other formats by Vx Capture.
